Biography

Somanchi VSSNVG Krishna Murthy obtained his post-graduation (M. Sc - Mathematics) from Osmania University, Hyderabad and Doctoral degree from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Kanpur. Subsequently he was offered a Post Doctoral position under Erasmus Mundus – WILL Power (Window India Learning Link Power) Fellowship ‘2010-11 ’, at Ecole Centrale Paris–France. Dr Murthy is currently working as Associate Professor & Head, Department of Applied Mathematics, Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) Deemed to be University (DU), Pune, Department of Defence Research & Development, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India. His research interests include Mathematical Modeling, fluid flow through Porous media, Numerical Method's for Partial differential equations- FEM, Numerical parallel Algorithms, Computational Fluid Dynamics. He is Member of many professional bodies, former Vice President and currently an executive council member of Indian Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (ISTAM), I.I.T Kharagpur.He is an editorial board member of various journals including Journal of Thermal Engineering (JTE, Asia Region), also Technical Program Committee (TPC) member of various conferences in India and abroad. He has worked in the capacity of Advisory Committee / Organizing committee member and Chaired the technical sessions in an International Conferences and also delivered invited talks in various conferences / workshops. He has good no. of publications in various referred journals.
